Ed Elliott is a sculptor currently based at Trumpet Art Studios, near Ledbury in the West Midlands. His work is predominantly comprised of large scale figurative sculpture, often made with a specific site in mind. His sculptures, most often carved from tree trunks, sit comfortably on the boundary between highly skilled craft and fine art. A balance of public and private commissions as well as his self driven body of work enables Elliott to work full-time as an artist, constantly exploring new themes and developing techniques.

Ed has won national acclaim with a number of National Trust commissions, among which he created a striking wooden angel figure with a 14ft wingspan, exhibited at Mottisfont in Hampshire and more recently his response to the military history of Hughenden Manor with his 'Watchmen' series.

"Working figuratively is a very direct way to communicate with the public. I think everyone regardless of nationality or background can relate to the human form. I have devoted the last three years to working in wood and I am now enjoying combining traditional methods with the use of other materials."
